Championship Show - 8th April 2023
Judge - Thomas West (Tomlyndon)
Thank you to the Officers & Committee for an excellent day and their efforts in making the show so memorable with the Coronation theme. I would also like to put on record my thanks to the Members who voted for me those years ago to judge this show. My first Club Show awarding CC’s and a great honour to do so.
I am not a regular at shows currently due to a new arrival to the family and work commitments but it was great to be back amongst it within the breed and seeing almost all exhibits on the day for the first time.
Although classes do not possess the numbers there once was, I was pleased with the overall quality and the main winners especially delighted to have in the ring.

Class 3: PUPPY DOG (1)
1st: Owens’ FRISBECK HORN PIPE
A lot to like about this youngster, correct type and no exaggeration. Good head, defined stop and ears well placed. Excellent pigment. Well placed shoulder into level topline, good coat texture. Moving out well with tail on top. Could be shorter coupled but has time on his side to develop.

Pleasing outline and on his toes’, alert with good showmanship. Excellent jacket and presented in great condition. Good pigment, correct front and shoulder placement. Well angulated rear which he uses to his advantage on the move. Another with time on his side for his head proportions to develop but would prefer him shorter in foreface.

3rd: CHARMAUTUM SHOOTIN STAR
CLASS 15: JUNIOR BITCH (3)
1st: Jenkins and Crockett’s WHITE VILLAN QUEEN OF THE NIGHT AT HAVASU
A bitch from the top drawer. Not overdone in any way, cobby, compact and of quality. On closer inspection she excelled in rear assembly, good bend of stifle, well angulated and good muscle with clear 2nd thigh. Tail well set and plenty behind it. Moving out so well with excellent reach and drive. Excellent shoulder, short coupled and good head. Keen expression looking back at you, with excellent pigment. So worthy of her CC on the day and was splitting hairs with her kennel mate for RBIS, with the male shading it on this occasion.
2nd: Burns’ BURNEZE HELLO DOLLY
Another bitch of quality. Rangier type than 1 but lots to like. Pleasing head and neat ears. Correct bite. Super front and well placed shoulder. Level topline and short coupled. Good bend of stifle and tail well set and carried correctly. Moving out well both ways.

Class 17: NOVICE BITCH (0) No entries
Class 18: GRADUATE BITCH (1)
1st Szulzycka’s URSULA DE NEW GRYFFINDOR
A bitch that handles so well on the table, lots to like and everything is where it should be. Feminine head and correct expression. Straight front, well placed shoulder and level topline, short coupled. Good bend of stifle, hocks and good muscle in her rear. Tail well set. Lacking a bit of temperament which effected her carriage on the day but has undoubted quality.
Class 19: POST GRADUATE BITCH (3, 1)
1st: DALSKAIRTH GLAMIS GIRL
Class 20: LIMIT BITCH (6, 2)
A quality class, with differing types but lots to like; topped by
st: Coley’s MAXULA HERE COMES SUMMER AT KINGSVIEW
A bitch that handles well on the table and makes the most of herself on the move. Excellent head, well proportioned and good muzzle, defined stop. Neat ears that are well placed. Super front assembly which ultimately gave her the edge here. Well placed shoulder, level topline. Excellent ribs and body, well angulated and moving out well. Free flowing around the ring, she holds herself well and maintains it when free standing. RCC
2nd: Noyce’s MAXULA VANILLA ICE CREAM
Many similar attributes to 1, my notes include ’plenty behind the tail’, which is an area for improvement in a number of exhibits I felt on the day. Presented in excellent condition with super white jacket. Moving out well, with good drive from her rear.
3rd: Smith’s LINGBECK HOLD THE DREAM
