Show report
First of all I would to say thank you for the invite to judge at the West Highland White Terrier Club of England Championship Show. A great honour indeed, and I enjoyed every minute of it. My love for the breed started many moons ago and I was curious to go over your dogs
Quality was mixed, but I can say that the true type is in good hands. I would suggest to remember what is written in the standard, and above all the history of our beloved breed. I believe that as breeder we should pay more attention at the right temperament, and to the heads and expressions. Another point to underline is the bone. I saw some dogs lacking of it.
Last but not least I would mention the grooming. Personally speaking I'm not a maniac of it. Grooming must be functional, and as I often say, the westie should be able to hunt small vermin, even if is not doing it nowadays any more.
My dog and bitch cc are great example of the breed, and I wish I could have taken them home with me.
I wish to extend my warmest thanks to the exhibitors who entered under me and accepted graciously my decisions.

Another nice puppy dog with a lot of qualities. Nice head well placed ears dark eyes. Correct bite. Straight front but I would prefer the shoulder a bit more angulated. Good topline enough angulation behind and I would like a better tail set. Needs more temperament and ring training.

As soon as he entered in the ring, I said to myself: wow that's the one. And on the table didn't disappoint me. A little strong dog with all the right things in the right place. Beautiful head that filled my hand, dark eyes with piercing expression, eyes correctly set apart. Muzzle strong well full under the eyes. Good bite with strong big teeth. Fantastic laid of shoulder, smoothly going in a very short body. Correct front. Top line firm and parallel to the ground, fantastic tail set. Full of temperament allowing him to have the correct hey look at me! Attitude. Correct body proportions, moved covered ground effortlessly. A pleasure for the eyes

Nice dog nicely built. Nice head dark eyes, correct bite. Correct proportions between head and muzzle. I would prefer a bit smaller ear. Shoulder could be a little more angulated. Firm top line. He could be just a little more angulated behind and the tail set could be higher. Needs more ring training

Nice bitch of good type, good substance. Broad skull but I would prefer it fuller. Excellent stop and expression. strong teeth, good reach of neck a bit open angulation in front, well-formed chest. Would like better bend of stifle and better tail set. Top line not parallel to ground. Moves a bit restricted behind. Excellent harsh coat

Feminine bitch with an impressive temperament. Excellent head and correct piercing expression. Correct bite. I would prefer a slightly better shoulder.
